Chats: easier to read and reply
Preview a conversation without marking it read, reply from Android notifications, and keep your place in older messages.
Why it matters
You do not always have time to join a conversation straight away. You can now hold a chat in the message list to preview it without marking it read. Dismiss the preview to come back later, or open the chat when you are ready to reply.
We have also worked on the small details of reading and replying. Swipe to reply follows your finger, the composer moves with the keyboard, and loading older messages keeps your reading position. Long messages appear in full, without an extra tap to expand them.
On Android, messages from the same conversation are grouped in one notification. You can reply from it without opening the app. We also fixed duplicate replies and cases where notifications remained after the messages were read.
These changes are part of version 0.1.1. As of September 9, the Android update is available to internal testers through Google Play. The iPhone build is still in Apple processing before it can appear in TestFlight; an uploaded build is not yet an installable update.
