Product privacy and safety

Lets explains profile privacy through ordinary actions: account, profile, audience controls, messages, reports, blocking, support, and safety checks should be clear before a problem starts.

Account, profile, and audience controls

People should understand what their profile shows, who can see stories and posts, when close friends is the better audience, and which settings to review after signing up. Privacy starts with a clear account screen, not a long document.

Messages and unwanted contact

Messages are not public parts of a profile or feed. When reports are sent, the team may review available context, the submitted description, and safety signals; if contact becomes pushy, uncomfortable, or unsafe, a person can limit the interaction, block the account, and use block/report controls from the app.

Reports, support, and review

A report should explain what happened, and support should be able to look into the situation by hand when context matters. A person should not have to argue in public to ask for help or report a violation.

Safety checks

Safety checks remind people to review account access, audience choices, messages, and whether blocking or reporting is available from the place where they need it.
